So what do you do when the media is so DRAMATIC? You watch The Weather Channel and focus on the weather and not the drama associated with it all. We made a plan to stay put, and then my amazing husband called me at 6:30am shortly after he left for the day and said for me to pack up and go to my parents... HUH??!! So we did and were on I-10 by 9:30am! I'm a rock star packer!! We got to have the mini vacation in the Hill Country that we were unable to have this past summer... the weather was great, my parents were glad we fled and came there, BUT... the best surprise was The Faust Family arriving in the SAME town I was in!!!!! It was GREAT... we hung out and spent a day in Gruene! We met almost 2 years ago on a cruise ship and have become great friends. We knew on the cruise ship that we did not meet by accident! The kids had a GREAT time together! We missed Shawn, but we know we will all see each other again soon!

So then we return home and have no power for days and days... our great friends Kathleen & Joe took us in and fed us over and over again and let me do laundry and invade their home... great friends are heard to come by, but are a GREAT thing

to have around :) (thanks!!!)

What has happened since May??!!??!!

There have been so many events in our home this summer and the start of Fall, I am not sure where to start. I just know that I have to start somehwere, so here goes! Here are a few of the highlights in our family~

~ The kids had a BUSY summer... they were super disappointed that we were unable to take our first family vacation together (I got really sick after my tonsillectomy) ...
~ Madilyn and Brock spent some extra time with their dad since I was sick a lot.
~ Madi loved Carolina Creek Christian Camp with River Pointe Church and will remember it forever she says!!
~ Brock swam like a fish and loved the water park in our neighborhood!
~ My parents spent a lot of time at my house taking care of me... I thought those days were over!!! As well as my sister Nikki... would not have made it without them all!
~ Kiana did the usual post graduating thing- NOT too much... chilling out pool side.
~ Kiana started Wharton JC this semester and likes college so far... plans to attand Texas State soon
~ Don has been working super hard all summer long- he deserves some COOL weather soon!! His business is growing at a rapid pace... I am now on the payroll!
~ JoBeth and I moved in to a boutique in Missouri City called Latte Tots on August 1st! We have a room in the back that we have turned in to a shop... we are super happy there and excited that we have a store front now!

For all of the changes that God has brought in to our lives, we are truly blessed. I am able to focus on SASSY ME and take the kids to school and pick them up each day, which I have never done before... God is truly amazing. Don and I are BLESSED and have a great life together. We seek God's will in our life daily and pray that we are listening to Him. It was a LONG, hard summer in our house, but with God's amazing Grace, we made it through it all together as a family. It's amazing what happens when you TRUST and rely on God alone!

So, could he be any cuter??? He LOVED his graduation! He thought it was soooooo cool.... he was the focus of our family for 1 whole hour!!! the girls cheered him on and Don and I giggled as he did the "wave" so well! He will be a treat for his Kindergarten teacher in the fall!!! YAY BROCK!!!

GRADUATION 2008.....

So, can we say "Class of 2008"??? In our house it is a term that we discuss daily... pictures, invitations, parties, celebrations, award ceremonies, caps and gowns.... WOW!!!

Don and I could not be more proud of all 3 kids right now. They are REALLY ready for the summer! Ok, so are we... summer in our house looks a little different than most families... we keep the schedule in hand so that we know who is where and who has who... we have mastered the art of the blended family!!!
